This room pays tribute to Henri (1921-2010), my paternal grandfather, born in Oran, Algeria. A true epicurean, he lived many lives and cultivated a wealth of talents. A teacher of mathematics and English, and a musician in an orchestra, he played the accordion – the very one now displayed in this room.

Henri loved board games and delighted his grandchildren with countless magic tricks, moments of wonder forever etched in our memories. The wallpaper depicts the family château of our ancestors, a historic building bequeathed to the town of Thiviers, in the Dordogne, after two centuries of prosperity from the production of the very first ophthalmic ointment.

The bathroom recalls his story in Algeria, with posters of the towns and villages where he lived before returning to France. Married to Irène, he was the father of four children and is remembered as a passionate, curious, and generous man whose life was a journey rich in emotion and discovery.
